Fist Fuck (Remixed By J.G. Thirlwell)

In high school I was the JROTC Battalion Executive Officer, captain of the rifle team, drill team member, lead in a one-act-play, Executive Producer of the video whatever-it-was, among other things.

I hated high school. I hated waiting for life to begin. Despite this, I was a sponge for information, learned a lot, but remained clueless about a lot of the things I think people really learn in high school. So, I can still remember useful math equations, but I have a hard time smiling even if I’m having a good time.

You could say smiling actively discouraged. People would threaten to beat me up over stupid shit like smiling. All through junior and high school I got to experience something I feel a lot of people that grew up in suburbs might never know. You get to hang out with people of a lot of different backgrounds. Particularly in my school. There were military kids from all across the country and world. There were poor people, drug dealers, criminals. I once saw a guy get shanked with a screwdriver between classes.

Yeah. I didn’t smile a lot.
